Cruz v3 Performance rain shield
The CRUZ V3 Performance Rain Shield was developed by adapting our existing performance rain shield construction to the updated CRUZ V3 geometry. I helped to re-pattern the design to achieve a clean, secure fit while accommodating the stroller’s new proportions. A key challenge was ensuring consistent coverage as the seat adjusts, requiring a solution that performs reliably across all seating positions.
a focus on Movement and Coverage
The CRUZ V3 introduces independently adjusting leg rest and backrest positions, creating a unique challenge for maintaining consistent weather protection. The rain shield was re-patterned to account for these moving elements, ensuring full coverage whether the seat is upright or reclined.
Elastic shaping around the footrest helps the lower portion stay in place as the stroller adjusts, preventing gaps and maintaining protection in changing configurations. The design retains the key features of the performance line, including quick attachment, a zippered access panel, vented airflow, reflective details, and the ability to fold with the stroller for added convenience.
