Cruz v2 upper adapters
The Cruz V2 Upper Adapters were developed in response to a common user insight: parents felt the Cruz V2 seat and bassinet sat too low, making interaction with their child less comfortable. The goal was to raise the seating position by approximately four inches while maintaining a secure, intuitive attachment experience. I worked on designing the adapter components that elevate the toddler seat, bassinet, and compatible infant car seats, bringing the child closer to the parent while preserving the stroller’s stability and performance.
Elevating Everyday Interaction
The adapters raise the seating position by about four inches, creating a more comfortable height for parents to engage with their child during everyday use. This change improves visibility and accessibility while maintaining the familiar attachment system used across Cruz seating configurations.
The adapters support the toddler seat, bassinet, and compatible infant car seats, allowing families to use the system across multiple stages without changing the overall stroller experience. The design also preserves both forward-facing and parent-facing seat orientations.
Seamless Integration
A key focus of the design was ensuring the adapters felt like a natural extension of the stroller rather than an added accessory. The surface transitions were developed to create a smooth visual connection from the stroller hub through the adapter and up to the seat or bassinet.
Raising the seating position required careful attention to safety and performance. The adapters were engineered to maintain the stroller’s stability and successfully pass required stroller and tip testing. For usability, the system features quick one-handed attachment and a slide-and-press interior release button that enables secure locking and easy removal, while still allowing the stroller to fold with the adapters installed.
